Acting on behalf of corporate and individual clients, lawyers in the area of Litigation provide skilled professional counsel and experience in all aspects of civil, administrative, criminal, and quasi-criminal litigation from commencement and pre-trial matters, through trial and appeal proceedings.

The members of our Litigation group appear in all courts of Manitoba, all Federal courts and the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of a clientele that includes major insurance companies and financial institutions as well as individual litigants. Some members of our department are members of the bar in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario, and are licensed to appear in the courts of those provinces.

Our litigators provide counsel in such areas as medical and other professional negligence, insurance defence and subrogation (including property and casualty), products liability, accident, sickness and life claims, as well as media law, defamation and contempt, wrongful dismissal, arbitrations, securities and brokerage, receivership and an extensive range of corporate, commercial and construction related issues. They also are active in all facets of resolving disputes outside court, by innovative alternative dispute resolution processes.

In addition to preparation and appearances in litigation matters, we also represent clients in bankruptcy and insolvency issues, at disciplinary hearings, and before various municipal, provincial and federal administrative tribunals and regulatory bodies.
